Xavier Rush Is Injured Until Christmas

Xavier Rush, the Cardiff Blues captain is injured until Christmas, after damaging his knee. He is undergoing surgery this week to rectify the problem, but it is very unlikely he will have recuperated and be match fit until after Christmas.

Rush, who used to play for the All Blacks, was important in getting the Blues to the runners up spot in last years Magners League, even though he was out for part of the season with an injured arm. The number 8 was also part of the team that qualified for the Heineken Cup quarter final as well.

While the Cardiff Blues do have a couple of possible replacements for the short term, it is still a blow for the team, and may hinder their chances of bettering last years campaign.
