Wasps beat Newcastle. Same old, same old.
Wasps showed yet again how Newcastle are currently lacking in a lot of areas, and need to do a lot of training and recruiting over the off season to be at all competitive next year. Newcastle didn’t play Matthew Tait, Toby Flood or Ben Woods, all of who are leaving at the end of the season, and without them Newcastle seemed even more bereft of ideas than normal.
The final score was Newcastle 12 - 32 Wasps, with Cipriani kicking 5 out of 6 kicks. As well as this, there was an 80 metre try from Paul Sackey, who seems to be ever improving as a winger, and is starting to realise the potential shown over the past few years.
Anyone reckon Newcastle are getting relegated next year? I may well put a fiver on it, especially since Worcester are improving and Northampton are making massive changes in their squad, with some very shrewd signings (Ben Foden anyone?).
