South Africa Destroy Australia

Results

How about this for a score line - South Africa 52 - 8 Australia.  This means that Australia are now not on track to win the Tri Nations, as they are now 1 point behind New Zealand, having played the same number of games.  Australia now have to beat New Zealand in the final game of the Tri Nations on the 13th of September to finish top of the table and win the championship.

There were 4 tries scored by the South African winger Jongi Nokwe, and tries were also scored by Andries Bekker, Adrian Jacobs, Ruan Pienaar and Odwa Ndungane.  Butch James kicked three conversions and a penalty, while Percy Montgomery kicked two conversions.  Australia kicked one penalty and scored a try via Mitchell, and did not look at all like winning, or really even scoring.

At the end of the match, Percy Montgomery announced that he was retiring from international rugby, after playing 102 matches and scoring 893 points.  He will still be playing club rugby in South Africa.

I reckon that New Zealand are going to win the Tri Nations, especially the way that Australia are playing at the moment.
