Sale annihilate Newcastle and make them look very rubbish indeed

Sale Sharks destroyed Newcastle Falcons at the weekend, with a final score of 53 - 10. The question has to be asked, is there really this much of a skill gap between two teams who are 5 places apart in the Guinness Premiership? I think that Newcastle, who are in a state of turmoil at the moment on the management side of things, are starting to crack, and that there isn’t enough strength in the team to be anything other than a team that doesn’t get relegated, but won’t win stuff either. Wilkinson will never get his form back if he doesn’t play high quality rugby week in week out, and to be honest, him and Toby Flood are pretty much wasted at Newcastle.

I guess that it could be worse, they could be relegated like Leeds now are. As I have said before, I think it is touch and go as to who will be promoted to the Premiership next year - Leeds or Exeter.
