Rowntree Appointed To England Coaching Team
Martin Johnson has moved Graham Rowntree into the England coaching team. Rowntree was previously working as part of the national Academy setup, before being promoted by Johnson. Rowntree played alongside Johnson at Leicester, as well as at England, and they were in the same lions squad at one point, though I don’t think Rowntree got a game.
This seems to be another example of Johnson starting to fill the England staff with the people that he wants and feels will do the job, rather than having to deal with just legacy staff. He has already had a new team doctor and a new operations manager, and looks to be starting to exert his will over the England setup.
I can’t wait to see what the next 6 nations will bring!
