New Zealand Beat South Africa
New Zealand have increased their lead in the Tri-Nations table. They beat South Africa 19 - 0 and that was with Dan Carter missing quite a few penalties. The table now looks like this:
| 1 | New Zealand | 5 | 3 | 0 | 2 | 124 | 82 | 14 |
| 2 | Australia | 3 | 2 | 0 | 1 | 60 | 67 | 9 |
| 3 | South Africa | 4 | 1 | 0 | 3 | 47 | 82 | 5 |
So what does this mean? It means that if South Africa beat Australia in the next two games they have against them, and then New Zealand lose to Australia, then there is a chance that South Africa can still win the Tri-Nations. However this tournament is really down to only two teams, Australia and New Zealand, with South Africa running quite a distance behind. It just goes to show how little importance winning a world cup means. All it shows is that a team was able to peak at the right time to win.
