Leon Lloyd Retires

Gloucester

Leon Lloyd, the Gloucester winger has retired, after having failed to recover from a knee injury. Lloyd, who moved to Gloucester at the beginning of last season, heaving played for Leicester for ten years, found out on Tuesday that the knee injury was career ending. He saw a Harley Street specialist, who said that the knee would not fully recover or be up to the rigors of playing rugby.

Obviously Leon Lloyd is absolutely gutted - I mean who wouldn’t be - a career ending injury has to be one of the worst ways to leave the game. Since he moved to Gloucester, he only managed to play 8 games for them. However, he did have quite a good record in the previous 10 years at Leicester - overall he won 12 trophies during those ten years, nothing to be sneezed at!
