Leeds Sign Strange From Bristol

Leeds Carnegie

Leeds Carnegie have signed Jason Strange from Bristol on a two year contract.  Strange, who played fly half for Bristol, was their leading points scorer last season, and has scored 825 points for them in total over the past 4 years.

Strange is the first signing of the new leeds management team - Andy Key and Neil Back.  This signifies a very clear resolve to do the same as Northampton Saints did last year in Division 1, and get promoted right back to the Premiership in a season.

It is not the first signing that Leeds have made since they got relegated at the end of last season - they have also signed:

  • Henry Paul - Harlequins Rugby League
  • Scott Barrow  -Glasgow Warriors
  • Phil Murphy - Worcester Warriors
  • Jon Pendlebury - Gloucester
  • Pete Bucknall - Birmingham & Solihull

While some of those signings are a bit odd in my opinion, most of the signings should help to strengthen the team.
