England Players Agree New Deal

England

England’s elite squad have agreed to a new pay deal, ending the long running disputes over with the RFU.  The new pay deal is performance based, with players getting £8,200 per game, that will rise to almost £11,000 for a win.  Before it was a flat rate of £9,000 per game.  The new contract will run for 4 years before being renegotiated.

This means that when you add image rights and the fact that there are quite a few matches this season, it looks like England players could earn up to £185,000 per season, not bad, but not much when compared to football!

The good news is that since a deal was struck, there is no need for a strike, which was very possible a few weeks ago.
