England change Base
It has been decided that England are going to move back to the base where they were most successful - Pennyhill Park Hotel in Surrey, where England prepared for the 2003 World Cup under Sir Clive Woodward. Since then, England have prepared at Loughborough University, Bisham Abbey and the University of Bath. Obviously Johnson et al have decided that it would be a good idea to try and get back to these winning ways, and I presume that they felt that the location that they trained at had a lot to do with this.
England will use the hotel and surrounding facilitates until 2012, and are using it in preparation for the matches that they are going to play in November, when they play the Pacific Islanders, Australia, South Africa and New Zealand.
Pennyhill Park hotel is meant to have great facilities, including a relaid rugby pitch, and covers all the training and recovery needs of the England squad. It even has a swimming pool to help England reach the sort of form that they have lost after the 2003 world cup, and haven’t really looked like finding again over the past 4 to 5 years.
