Chris Patterson doesn’t like Guinness Premiership that much
Guinness Premiership, Magners League
Chris Patterson, the Scotland fullback, has said that he believes that the Magners league involves more attractive rugby than anything in the English Premiership. While he admits that there are some very good games towards the top of the league, he also says that the “Premiership is physically dominated, there are a lot of slower games and relegation sometimes strangles the game”.
Patterson believes that the fact that there is no relegation in the Magners league means that the rugby played is a lot more entertaining and positive, with lots of attacking by all players. Maybe he is right, but trust me, it is a lot more of a roller-coaster ride if you are supporting a team who toys with relegation on a constant basis, rather than one which will never get relegated. It is exhilarating and stressful at the same time.
