6 Nations Round Up - Week 2

6 Nations, Reviews

What a weekend. Some of the worst rugby ever played, and some of the best. Suffice to say I was correct with all three predicitions, but to be honest it wasn’t that hard - probably the easiest week to predict. Anyay, here is a quick round up of the three games:

Italy 19 - 23 England

England did it again. They imploded in the second half. Luckily Italy weren’t good enough to capitalise on this and take the win. Italy stopped England from having any ball in the second half. Wilkinson gave a great performance. He showed he meant business from the off, with a great chip and chase. Cipriani didn’t do himself any favours with a similar chip and chase that was intercepted by the Italians and turned into a try.

France 26 - 21 Ireland

France were very good, so were Ireland (best they’ve been since at least before the last world cup). However, the French back 3 were awesome. I reckon that France may well win this 6 Nations. They are definitely playing like the France of old, willing to run the ball from anywhere, yet they are still keeping their indiscipline in check, so that very few stupid penalties are given away.

Wales 30 - 15 Scotland

Scotland look less and less likely to even score in this six nations. Patterson got all of Scotland’s 15 points. I reckon that Italy will beat Scotland and that Scotland will get the wooden spoon. Wales were okay. Nothing amazing. Wales have been lucky thus far in the 6 nations - England imploded last week, and Scotland cannot score tries to save their life.
